Preparing a client proposal

In order to create an advertising proposal, I need to gather information about the company that makes the product, where it wants to advertise, what it wants the advertising to achieve and how much it has to spend.

The advertising budget for my campaign to advertise is £100,000.

I want my adverts to introduce a new product to the market and to show something different. Also I would like the adverts to produce a boost of sales to make my business become successful.

The best way to advertise my product is to make a Tv advert so that the product can be shown from each angle instead of a head on shot of the bottle.

The print advert will be stylish but colourful so that the image will stand out more to the public and make them wanna go to a shop and look at it for themselves.

The target market for my product is for young females ranging from about 15-30, the reason is because the smell is one that a younger person would like more than an older woman. The product should contrast with teenage films with all of the colours and stylishness, and also slightly older women that are in to glamour and fashion. The kind of person who would buy my product would like the following music, charts music and any kind of pop, the films they would like are Chick flicks and Romantic comedy. Television programmes would be fashion programmes or maybe Skins or other teenage programmes, and they would probably shop at River Island or at Primark.

The Advertising Standards Authority

The ASA is the UK's most independent advertiser across all media. They work to make sure that all of their adverts are truthful, decent, legal and honest.

The codes that ASA use in its judgements are CAP and BCAP, the BCAP is responsible for maintaining The UK Code of Broadcast Advertising and the CAP is responsible for the rulebook The UK Code of Non-broadcast Advertising.

From 1st March marketing communications on websites will be regulated by the ASA.

A Coca Cola advert was banned because it was thought to of been misleading because it was branded as "nutritious" because it contained all of the recommended daily allowance of vitamin c. One of the complaints thought that the 500 ml bottle of drink had 30g of sugar and in that case was not branded nutritious but as a matter of fact had only 23g.

When I make my own adverts i will need to check the ASA rules and regulation to make sure my adverts comply with the ASA rules and regulations.
